Bystander Shouts Racist Comments at an Asian Man Involved in a Car Accident
“Korea’s going down! It’s over for Korea!”
A video from November of last year has resurfaced recently, showing a man making a series of racist comments at an Asian man who had been involved in a car accident. The incident took place on November 11th, 2020 at the East 29th Street and 1st Avenue intersection in NYC.
The accident involved an Asian male and a Black female. As NYC firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene an onlooker suddenly started to shout a slew of racist remarks.
“Korea’s going down! It’s over for Korea!” the man shouted, along with other racist comments. He later followed on with “Korea caused the car accident! He can’t see! You think he’s gona drive?”
Eventually, firefighters and police officers stepped in, saying “Somebody is injured. Have some courtesy and respect.”
Both drivers involved in the accident were later transported to a hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.
