Tu Hoang Lam, a 47-year-old father, was buckling his 6-year-old son into the back seat of their car at a grocery store near 5900 University Avenue in El Cerrito, California around 3 pm on Sunday when a car swerved to the left and pinned him against the rear door of the car as his son watched. Lam suffered severe injuries to the lower part of his body and is now in critical condition, as reported by FOX5.

The car has been identified from surveillance footage as a Saturn Vue. The driver of the car stuck around for about 10 seconds, then fled the scene as people began to walk towards the crash.
