75-Year-Old Asian Elder Dies After Brutal Assault in Oakland
Police have arrested 26-year-old Teaunte Bailey in connection to the attack.
Pak Ho, the 75-year-old Asian elder who was assaulted this past Tuesday in Oakland, California has died after being on life support since the attack.
Police have arrested 26-year-old Teaunte Bailey in connection to the attack. He’s accused of robbing and striking Ho with a closed fist at Jayne and Perkins in Oakland, knocking him out onto the pavement and leaving him brain dead. Bailey was arrested after a high speed car chase and crash on Tuesday that ended at 8th and Adeline Streets.
The attack occurred as Ho, who uses a cane to walk, was out on his daily morning walk around the neighborhood when witnesses said a brown truck with two people pulled up. One person knocked the cane out of Ho’s hand while the other shoved him to the ground.
This attack is just one in a string of recent attacks against Asian elders, many of them also taking place in Oakland.
