Here Are Some of the Hottest K-Dramas Coming June 2021

Plenty to binge this summer!

There's no better way to ease into the upcoming summer than by binge-watching a few new K-Dramas...right? Here’s a list of the hottest new Korean dramas premiering in June 2021. Among the list include several continuations of previously aired dramas as well! Keep reading to see what you need to catch up on this summer. 

The Penthouse 3: War in Life (June 14th)

The highly anticipated third season of The Penthouse will finally air on June 4th on SBS TV. It will star Lee Ji-Ah, Kim So-Yeon, Eugene, Um Ki-Joon, Yoon Jong-Hoon, and Park Eun-Seok. The third season will continue the story of a real estate and education war, and the desire to rank highest, despite evil behavior. Continuing from the second season, the residents of Hera Palace will have concluded their trials and are now focused on their children who are preparing for the college entrance examination. However, death and revenge are ongoing within the tense circumstances of the adults.

Blue Spring from a Distance (June 14th)

Blue Spring from a Distance is a webtoon adaptation, which will begin on June 14th. The story is centered around two male university students named Yeo Joon (Park Ji-Hoon) and Nam Soo-Hyun (Bae In-Hyuk). Yeo Joon is a first year student with a cute appearance and bright personality. His parents are wealthy, but he did not receive much attention growing up. Meanwhile, Kim So-Bin is a sincere 3rd-year who lives with her divorced father. Nam Soo-Hyun is intelligent and handsome, but given his difficult financial situation he carries a blunt attitude. Despite Yeo Joon and Soo-Hyun’s contrasting personalities, their friendship evolves during a group project. Blue Spring from a Distance will air every Monday and Tuesday on KBS2.

Monthly Magazine Home (June 16th)

Monthly Magazine Home is a home-searching romance drama starring Jung So-Min, Kim Ji-Seok, Jung Gun-Joo, and Kim Won-Hae. It tells the story of a man who buys houses and a woman who lives in one. Yoo Ja-Sung (Kim Ji-Seok) is the CEO of a real estate investment company. Meanwhile, Na Young-Won (Jung So-Min) is a magazine editor of 10 years who lives in her rented home. When rent-related conflicts arise with her house, Young-Won begins to develop an interest for real estate and meets Yoo Ja-Sung. Monthly Magazine Home will premiere on June 16th, on JTBC.

Hospital Playlist 2 (June 17th)

Hospital Playlist 2 will continue the story of five doctors who have been best friends since their medical school days, and their interactions as employees at Yujie Medical Center. The drama follows the doctors as they support each other, experience hardships, and treat patients. This drama stars Jo Jung-Suk, Yoo Yeon-Seok, Jung Kyung-Ho, Kim Dae-Myung, and Jeon Mi-Do. Hospital Playlist 2 will be released on June 17th, on Netflix.

Voice 4: Judgement Hour (June 18th)

Voice 4: Judgement Hour is the fourth season of Voice (2017). This action thriller drama tells the story of a serial killer with an enhanced hearing ability, who uses it to his advantage in order to kill others. Contrastingly, character Kang Kwon-Joo (Lee Ha-Na) uses his similar enhanced hearing ability for justice. Partnered with Detective Derek Jo (Song Seung-Heon), the duo capitalize upon one another's strengths in an effort to catch the serial killer and put him away once and for all. Voice 4: Judgement Hour will premiere on June 18th, on tvN.

Nevertheless (June 19th)

In the romance drama Nevertheless, Park Jae-Uhn (Song Kang) is a university student who believes dating is a waste of time, but enjoys flirting. On the other hand, his peer Yoo Na-Bi (Han So-Hee) wants to date, but doesn’t trust in the notion of love. However, when the two meet, their thoughts change and a blossoming relationship is formed. Nevertheless is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, and will premiere on June 19th. Available on JTBC or Netflix.
