Olivia Rodrigo has become the first Asian American artist to be recognized as ‘Woman of the Year’ by Billboard.

Olivia, who is of Filipina descent, accepted the award in a ceremony on Tuesday saying, “I want to say to all of the young girls out there who are writing songs every day in their journals, on their bedroom floors: I am constantly moved by your vulnerability and your creativity and bravery, and I promise everyone here today is working to make this world and this industry a better place for you.”

Also honored at the ceremony were H.E.R. who received the ‘Impact’ award and Saweetie who received the ‘Game Changer’ award.
