Japan May Be Removing Its Restrictions on Individual Tourism as Soon as October

Japan may be removing its restrictions on individual tourism as soon as October, according to new reports by Nikkei Asia and Fuji News.
The reports originated from statements made by Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Seiji Kihara to Fuji TV, in which he said that Japan will look at easing all three current travel restrictions, the daily arrival cap, restrictions on independent tourism such as the need to book tours with travel agencies, and visa requirements in the “not-so-distant future.”
It was additionally reported by the Fuji News Network that Prime Minister Fumio Kishida may decide on easing these restrictions as early as this week.
